Part of me expects Michael to die in this finale saving the world, while his parasite infects someone else, to try again. Will Michael give into his literal demon or will he do what it takes to protect the world? How much will Michael risk to conquer death? The reader already sees how far Diana Prince will go to have mastery over death.

Each villainous doppelganger of the Justice League that Michael Cray has taken out has been corrupted by their own power. ItвЂ™s a good metaphor for the central theme of the series, that power corrupts. Here we have the calm (somewhat) before the storm, where the mystery of CrayвЂ™s new powers is revealed, and he struggles to realize that he owes his very life to the alien/demon creature within him. With only one issue left, this is pretty clearly the best Wildstorm story IвЂ™ve read in the modern era.Д¬orrina: I might argue that Sleeper/Point Blankis the best Wildstorm story of the modern era but Michael Cray is definitely in that league, which means that Hill and Harris are in the same league as Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, and, yes, Michael Cray is that good. There are dark powers lurking around every corner of this issue and theyвЂ™re using the characters like toys. ThereвЂ™s something off in this segment вЂ“ whereвЂ™s Constantine, and why does he look so much like Lex Luthor? ThatвЂ™s a mystery I want to see resolved in next issue, but thereвЂ™s a lot going on here, including a brutal final scene between Cray and Dion. But first, thereвЂ™s a stop-off to get an artifact from Kent Nelson, who meets a horrible fate along with his wife.

The first adult flashback segment was curious because it featured her cutting a deal with a man who looked a lot like this worldвЂ™s Constantine вЂ“ but itвЂ™s actually Lex Luthor, as cruel as he is in the main world, pointing her towards Constantine. Her obsession with death and with the Greek Gods, in particular, was formed out of her fatherвЂ™s dying words, and as she reached adulthood she formed a pact with dark forces to achieve it. This is a young woman whose formative moment was seeing her father die, and she has been seeking out power over death ever since. This place is your new home now because here, you can explore the darkest fantasies and kinks most people donвЂ™t even know about. Yes, we dug through the dark sides of the internet to find the most brutal and sick Monster porn youвЂ™ve ever seen. It was clear that this isnвЂ™t truly Wonder Woman, and from the start of this flashback segment, the big differences are explored. Extreme Monster porn videos you wonвЂ™t find anywhere else. Steven HarrisвЂ™ depiction of this alien beast is terrifying вЂ“ alternately surreal and monstrous. The creature brought him back from the brink of death, and now it views him as owing him a life in return. As the issue opens, a flashback shows that the creature has been laying in weight since the day he was shot on the battlefield and nearly died.
